Looking back, I’ve been a maker since childhood. My mom was a graphic designer long before there were computers. Some of my earliest memories are of using a No. 2 pencil to draw over and transfer black lettering onto paper to make holiday cards for my family. Originally from New Orleans, I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism. My first advertising job was at WestWayne (now 22squared) in Atlanta. There I worked for legendary creative director Luke Sullivan — of Hey Whipple Squeeze This fame. Under his direction, my passion for typography grew — along with a strategic approach to solving business challenges.
I’ve worked for agencies, retailers, and in-house. I’m a hard worker, who strives to learn something new from everyone I encounter. I also enjoy mentoring and sharing knowledge, where appropriate, with my peers. Although I have experience working on national brands and for major retailers, I still enjoy working for non-profits and small businesses addressing the unique concerns they face. When I’m not kerning type, or matching Pantone swatches — you'll find me hanging out with my dog Lucy, seeing live music, or biking along the San Francisco bay.
